Polish Football Association Official: Launch of Investigation into Match-Fixing Allegations Involving Fourth-Tier Clubs
The Polish Football Association announced on April 19th that it has initiated an investigation into allegations of match-fixing involving two clubs, Widzew lodz and Concordia Elbląg, in the country's fourth-tier league.
According to an official statement by a disciplinary spokesperson of the Polish Football Association, based on confirmed information regarding suspicious betting activity, an investigation has been launched into allegations of match-fixing during the Łowicz vs. Concordia Elbląg match on March 30th, 2024.
The disciplinary spokesperson of the Polish Football Association emphasized the strict prohibition against any activities that may influence the course or outcome of football matches to eliminate unpredictability, particularly those related to gambling. Individuals subject to the disciplinary regulations of the Polish Football Association are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in betting on football matches through gambling companies. If found guilty, they may face severe disciplinary actions, including self-disclosure and very strict disciplinary measures against football clubs associated with them.
